From ages four to sixteen the constants in my life were rejection, neglect, poverty, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, inconsistency and insecurity. My mother taught me with deliberate precision, how to truly hate myself.
With occasional exception, the only person I could trust was me. I was a lonely child. If I may be so bold, I was also a beautiful child, blessed with a magnificent soul that was bursting with love, warmth and an amazingly kind nature that has never left me. No thanks to the adults around me. I just gratefully call it a blessing.
The first two years of my life were spent living in a nunnery in Harare, Zimbabwe after which time, a foster home was arranged for me. I lived there like a princess until I was four. I was cared for, nurtured, loved beyond words and slightly spoilt.

2008 really has been a challenging year for many. We have entered the energy of new beginnings that will not allow old conditioning, thinking and situations that vibrate in the lower energy and don’t support our evolution to go any further. We have to release to integrate with the higher energy of the new. I am seeing so many frustrated, emotionally upset and lost people this year with the common theme “Life is a struggle”. It’s a struggle because they haven’t yet let go. All is not as it seems, those who struggle need to understand that their struggle comes from within. When you struggle you push against your heart and you push against your guidance, spirit and faith. Struggle is saying “I am really trying hard to get somewhere or achieve something” and the more we struggle the further away it seems. You may have faith that you will get there and you may have made a commitment to get there, complete trust is what will get you there. When you trust it will be provided for you it will be…this is universal law. |

In 2008, I invite you to embrace change from the very core of your being– to ignite that spark of undiluted ‘you’ that gave you life and is the source of your being. Remember the times as a kid when you scrambled into your bathers and, with delight, jumped into the swimming pool making a gigantic SPLASH! You didn’t stop to consider the impact of this burst of enthusiasm on others; you just followed your natural impulse to express delight. It is that urge, that impulse to live with delight and liberation that I am inviting you to remember and create. |

How to Create a Year of Progress, Achievement and Satisfaction?
The pursuit of your vision will create the dedication to do what it takes to become successful and happy. The most important ingredient is having a strong set of values, positive attitudes and a habitual behaviour necessary for your vision to become reality. Create a Bigger and Better Future!Make your future bigger, brighter, and bolder than anything you’ve ever done before. The past is rich with experiences and offers great insights for creating a bigger and better picture. Use the past as a foundation for what lies ahead and use the experiences and insights to start thinking in new ways. This will help you create a better future and you will separate yourself from situations, relationships and activities that cause you to feel trapped. |

Every New Years day for the last ten years I’ve sat down and created my list of goals that I would like to achieve for that year. I do it for every area of my life and I go back to it every couple of months to see how I’m going or if I need to add anything or change anything. It becomes like my road map for the year.
This year, as I approach my 40th birthday the day after new year’s day, 2008, I’ve been reflecting back on the last 2 decades with some sense of nostalgia and I guess in an order to define those decades and put a title on them,
I’ve come up with a theme for my 20’s and one for my 30’s and now one for my 40’s. |
